Sacred Tears

“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief & unspeakable love.”

Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi

Test of True Lovers

So often we think that Allah only tests us with hardships, but this isn’t true.  Allah also tests with ease. He tests us with  na`im (blessings) and with the things we love, and it is often in these tests that so many of us fail. We fail because when Allah gives us these blessings, we unwittingly turn them into false idols of the heart.”

true_loveWhen Allah blesses us with money, we depend on the money rather than Allah. We forget that the source of our provision is not and never was the money, but rather it was the giver of that money. Suddenly we’re willing to sell alcohol to avoid losing money in our business, or we need to take out loans with interest to feel secure. In so doing we are foolishly—and ironically—disobeying the Provider in order to protect the provision.

When Allah blesses us with someone that we love, we forget that Allah is the source of that blessing, and we begin to love that person as we should love Allah. That person becomes the center of our world—all our concerns, thoughts, plans, fears, and hopes revolve only around them. If they are not our spouses, we are sometimes even willing to fall into haram just to be with them. And if they were to leave us, our whole world would crumble. So now, we have shifted our worship from the Source of the blessing to the blessing itself.

It is because of this tendency to lose sight  after Allah has  bestowed His blessings that  He warns us in the Qur’an when He says: “Say, [O Muhammad], ‘If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your relatives, wealth which you have obtained, commerce wherein you fear decline, and dwellings with which you are pleased are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and jihad in His cause, then wait until Allah executes His command. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.’” (9:24)

The warning in this ayah is critical. Our spouses and our children are listed here because they are among the blessings we love the most. And it is in  that which you love most that you find the greatest test. So if conquering that test means seeing through a storm of greeting cards and roses to a greater love that awaits, then so be it. And when could that be more relevant?

Tazkiya means to purify oneself.

Allah swt sent the Quran and Sayyidina Rasoolullah saw so that we may become pure enough to get access to Jannah, to become eternal companion of Sayyidina RasoolAllah saw and to become beloved of Allah swt.

Tazkiya means to make ourself so pure that we are able to gaze eternally on the most pure Being i.e. Allah swt and reside eternally in the purest place called Jannah.

We need to purify different parts of our self :-

One Special Secret by Shaykh Kamaluddin DB

One special secret Shaykh Kamaluddin shared in his lecture on how to become a lover of ALLAH?

You are already the beloved of ALLAH. Every one of you is beloved of ALLAH. Every human being, every momin has two phase in their life. Mureed & Muraad

Either they are the Mureed of ALLAH SWT or they could become the Muraad of ALLAH Swt. Mureed means that they themselves start seeking ALLAH, striving for Allah, obeying ALLAH, worshiping ALLAH. Asking for Hidayat, asking for Rahmat, asking for forgiveness

Sometimes a momin becomes the Muraad of ALLAH (swt), it means that sometimes ALLAH reaches out to you, even though you are not reaching out to Him. Whenever that happens, at that moment you are the muraad of ALLAH swt. For example you hear Azaan, though you;ve heard it a thousands of times in your life, but this time you have an eagerness to pray, thats all of a sudden. At that moment you’re not the mureed but the muraad of ALLAH. This is called hidaayat. ALLAH reached out to you. Sometimes you’re hurt, you got into depression. An dfor some reason, despite being sad, you thought of turning to ALLAH SWT. All of a sudden you felt like going into sjada, all of a sudden you felt like raising your hands in dua. Even though thats not how you’d act when your sad and depressed but all of a sudden, this time when you faced a problem, your heart’s desire was to make dua & turn to ALLAH swt. here did that desire come from into your heart? what does that mean? It came from ALLAH Swt, at that moment you became His muraad, He reached out to you even though you doidnt reach out to Him.

Now how to make this secret work? Whenever he reaches out to you, reach back to Him, respond! make that sajda! The moment He makes you His Muraad, make sure you become his Mureed.

ALLAH summarized the entire message of Deen Islam in this verse:

yuhibbu-hum wa yuhibbuna-hu (Allah loves his lovers and his lovers love him back”
We should memorize this ayat, we should recite this verse, we should make it our takiya-qalaam.

Being True Believers — Shaykh Kamaluddin DB

“Nobody in this worlds likes anything that is substandard. Why in the world would we want to have a substandard Imaan??” — Skaykh Kamaluddin DB teaches baby footsteps to have a Mayaari(standard) Imaan. The very first being to LOVE ALLAH.

REASONS THAT STOP US FROM LOVING ALLAH SWT

1. Materialism: the more you love, the less you’ll love ALLAH that’s guaranteed, apply this test to can apply to their own hearts. Muhabbat was reserved for ALLAH SWT. That was precisely that human emotion for ALLAH SWT for His name & His sake.
2. Secularism: Secularism is the name of that philosophy that teaches the Muslims that you dont need to love Allah, you dont need to worship Allah, you dont need to obey ALLAH. All you need to do is to be a good person. The definition of this ‘good person’ does not include being a good namazi, being a good muttaqi, does not include having good adab & akhlaaq (morality).
True morality comes with spirituality. How many of you ever got the compliment from a friend or neighbours saying “I want to be JUST LIKE YOU?’ thats the spirit of true morality. Sahab (RA) would get this compliment from strangers, complete strangers. That was the true adab & akhlaaq (morality)

How can I increase in ur love for ALLAH SWT?

1. Read, understand & feel the Book of ALLAH. Its natural whenever you read the words you feel more connected to them. When you feel connected, you’ll feel more and more love. The more you read, the more you feel connected, the stronger this love grows. Quran is a love letter of ALLAH to us. #connectiontoKalaamALLAH #poweroftheDevinespeech
2. Increase our connection with the Raul of ALLAH i.e Read, understand and feel his words, teachings, stories, sunnah, seerah, amaal, duas, etiquettes, how he forgave the non Muslims, how he trained the sahabah. Read it over & over again. Be like Him(SAW), apply these teachings in your life. ALLAH gave us the greatest human being, the greatest Prophet, the greatest creation, the HIGHEST level. Thats why ALLAH SWT wants us to be like Him(Saw). Thats why He (SWT) said in Quran, “Prophet SAW is the role model for you.”
You know WHY?? Because you had the audacity to say “Ash Hadu Alla Ilaha Illallah Wa Ash Hadu Anna Muhammadan Abduhu Wa Rasuluh”. You have entered ”Allazina aamanu (O’ you Believers), you’re gonna have to work for it.

Emulate, imitate & practice His Amaal; emulate, imitate & practice his sunnah; emulate, imitate & practice his seerah, his akhlaaq. And you’ll be connected to ALLAH SWT. He’s a great connector, that is what Prophets are, they’re connectors to ALLAH SWT. You have to get connected to the connector.

3. Zikarullah & Ibadatullah (Worship & Rememberance of ALLAH ):

Ibaadah: You cant take ibaadah outta the Deen, you have to have Ibadah. If you learn to unhook yourself from the love of Ghai-Allah, you can easily hook yourself to ALLAH.

Zikr: Even when you’re in the middle of the worldly affairs, there’s a basic type of zikr that you can perform everywhere & anywhere and that is the Silent zikr of heart. Feel the feelings for ALLAH (swt); silently, humbly, secretly. Sometimes feeling the love of ALLAH , sometimes feeling ashamed in-front of ALLAH. You can feel that ALLAH is close & I’m close to my ALLAH. The more you love think about Him, the more you reflect upon Him, the more you’ll love Him. That’s how amazing ALLAH SWT is. Keep reminding, keep reminding, keep reminding, keep reminding your heart of ALLAH & there will come a time your heart will remind you of ALLAH. To have that kind of a heart you first have to remind it of ALLAH.

4. Suhbat (company) of Saadiqeen & Adb ulllah: A simple phrase in urdu –> “Sabzi wala sabzi walon se milta hai, phal(fruit) wala phal walo se milta hai, Allah Alla-walon se milta hai”. When the untrue puts himself with the True, he starts to become true. If you haven’t been true and sincere to ALLAH, start sitting with those who are more true and sincere to ALLAH than us. That’s how even you’ll get that feeling. You need that suhbat, you need that company.

You’ll be amazed when you sit with Auliya ALLAH, they view themselves as your Khaadim. This is a fi-Allah relationship, you have no relation with them, you sit with them for the sake of ALLAH. Saying some part of my life, O’ALLAH! I give it for you.

5. Start having Talab(desire) for ALLAH: start wanting ALLAH. When you start wanting ALLAH, ALLAH will start wanting you. When desire ALLAH, He will start desiring you. When He starts desiring you, all of the amaal will start to become easy. So how difficult is that? How difficult is to want & desire your Rabb-e-Kareem. What in the world has happened to humanity. ALLAH addresses us (those who have become ghaafil of ALLAH & have become distracted) and says in Quran “Rabbu’ka” (O’m your Lord) , that’s a present & gift from ALLAH. Every time HE says Rabbuka, you should take that gift, grasp it to yourself & say “RABBI” (your MY Rabb).

Seeking ALLAH SWT Alone

Image

An ayah began to cross my mind. It was an ayah I had heard before, but for the first time I realized that it was actually describing me:  “Those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, but are pleased and satisfied with the life of the present, and those who heed not Our Signs.” (Qur’an, 10:7)

By thinking that I can have everything here, my hope was not in my meeting with God. My hope was in dunya. But what does it mean to place your hope in dunya? How can this be avoided? It means when you have friends, don’t expect your friends to fill your emptiness. When you get married, don’t expect your spouse to fulfill your every need. When you’re an activist, don’t put your hope in the results. When you’re in trouble don’t depend on yourself. Don’t depend on people. Depend on God.

Seek the help of people—but realize that it is not the people (or even your own self) that can save you. Only Allah can do these things. The people are only tools, a means used by God. But they are not the source of help, aid, or salvation of any kind. Only God is.
